About Us
Glenfriars House is a striking Georgian property in the heart of Jedburgh with a fascinating history which dates back to 1740. Current owners Anne and Michael Chahin fell in love with Glenfriars and have restored it with meticulous detail, adding modern touches and converting it into a Bed and Breakfast which oozes grace, comfort and refinement.
Set in secluded garden grounds only a moment from the town centre
Originally built in 1740 and with later Victorian additions, Glenfriars House sits in an elevated position overlooking the historic Royal Burgh of Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders, a town famed for its 12th Century Abbey, Mary Queen Of Scots House and Castle Jail and Museum.
The house, which at times has served as a doctor's surgery and a hotel, is a listed building, enjoys a private setting including secluded garden grounds and was one of the original buildings on The Friars.
It is an imposing property with 3 floors, a sweeping staircase and an attractive bay frontage overlooking a walled garden. The current owners have carried out a ground up renovation of the house, retaining all its original period features whilst adding the finest modern fixtures and fittings to complement the property and suit its discerning guests.
